A producer, DJ, engineer, publishing company & record label owner, Atlantic Connection is pushing himself to the forefront of EDM with his soulfully-charged brand of bass music. The son of a university department head and a music teacher, AC's childhood in Boston, Massachusetts was spent immersed in cultural education and music. With constant encouragement from his parents to explore his creative passions, Atlantic Connection found expression through the guitar, violin, saxophone, piano, poetry, hip hop, house & punk rock music; all elements that would contribute to who he is today.
It was the year 2000. A senior in high school, AC began DJing raves & dance clubs in (his then home of) North Carolina. AC's popular mix-tapes and flawless sets quickly gained him notoriety in the dance scene and, within months of starting out, he was on the statewide circuit. Around the same time he was introduced to early music making software which sparked another new passion, writing dance music. Teaming up with another local DJ, AC formed Basic Operations; a jungle/bass/d&b producer/DJ duo who went on to become one of the biggest & highest selling groups of the genre in America. Worldwide club touring and international record deals became the norm; AC was a senior in college and finishing up an anthropology degree. After a healthy 5 year run as producer of the project, AC decided to move on to develop his solo career and pursue his newly vested interest, "the biz".
By late 2006 Atlantic Connection was becoming a heavily in demand DJ and producer. After releasing music on over 25 dance labels, maintaining a constant tour & studio schedule, AC felt the next logical step was a move to Los Angeles. After relocating, Atlantic Connection contacted a long time friend, Jeryl Wilton who worked in record distribution & PR in London and the two launched Westbay Music. The labels debut single stayed in rotation on England's BBC Radio 1 network for months receiving worldwide DJ acclaim as AC went on to produce the next 4 singles which inevitably led up to his debut album, Tomorrow's Not Enough (2008). A mix of hip hop, electro & drum & bass , Tomorrow's Not Enough stayed in the dance charts through the summer of 2008 and was herald one of the most fresh and innovative projects of the year.
Tomorrow's Not Enough, was followed up by several remix singles from some of the hottest producers in the electro scene, propelling it's notoriety in club-land resulting in licensing deals with Global Underground & VH1. Following his album release and a 2 month tour, Atlantic Connection returned to Los Angeles to get back in the studio. Teaming up with recording artists Julz & Tetris, AC produced "Big Shot" which was licensed out by MTV for the first season of Jersey Shore and became a international club hit. This initiated a long-term relationship with MTV resulting in over 20 licensing's to the network during in 2009. That fall, Atlantic Connection signed with booking agency Circle Management and hit the road again. While on his last tour date in Honolulu, Atlantic Connection fell in love with the island lifestyle and feeling it to be a place of musical re-focus, relocated to Oahu for 8 months.
Returning to LA in October of 2010 amidst a fluidly dynamic music scene, AC kicked things into high gear. His fresh ideas and unique sound continued to gain notoriety both underground and commercially
and in December of 2010 was contacted by MTV to take part in several huge projects being released in 2011. AC is back in the lab producing his fresh brand of bassline-charged dance music, booking up worldwide club dates and running his label group. 2011 is going to be a exciting year for this multi-faceted artist.
