Fabolous will have his way with the Billboard 200 charts next week, when his latest, Loso's Way, snags the top spot in a quiet week of album sales. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, the Brooklyn MC will easily nab the top spot as the only debut in the top 10, with sales of almost 99,000.

The rest of the heap will remain largely unchanged, with Daughtry's sophomore effort, Leave This Town, resting comfortably again at #2 (62,000), a resurgent Maxwell hanging onto the #3 spot with BLACKsummers'night (55,000), followed by the Now That's What I Call Music! 31 compilation (#4, 53,000) and the Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) (#5, 49,000). While most of the usual suspects in the top 10 suffered either double-digit declines from the previous week or marginal losses/gains, band of brothers (and cousin) Kings of Leon continue their upward march with Only by the Night, which saw a 21 percent increase in sales to 47,000 and will move up two spots to #6.

The Hannah Montana 3 soundtrack settles in at #7 (41,000), trailed by Demi Lovato's Here We Go Again (39,000), which shed 64 percent of its business in week two. Taylor Swift's Fearless comes in at #9 with 38,000, and Lady Gaga's Fame, which holds tight at #10 (27,000).

Just outside the top, Ashley Tisdale's Guilty Pleasure debuts at #12 (25,000), while Kristinia DeBarge musters an initial bow down at #23 with her debut, Exposed (17,000). After a disappointing #7 entry last week, former "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks' second album, Battlefield, took a serious hit in week two (18,000), dropping down to #21 and shedding 63 percent of its first-week sales.

While Fab can celebrate his #1 debut in the top 200, over on the Comprehensive Albums chart, he'll have to settle for being #2, as Michael Jackson's Number Ones once again leads the overall sales parade with sales of 114,000 in a top five still dominated by three of the late pop star's albums, including Essential Michael Jackson (#3, 69,000) and the iconic Thriller (#5, 59,000).

The top 10 should remain relatively settled next week, as no major releases are slated to hit the charts.

Ashley Tisdale in "Aliens in the Attic"

It's a long way from singing and dancing in a "High School Musical" (or three) to fending off creatures from outer space and a creepy boyfriend. But Ashley Tisdale was ready to take that leap and star in "Aliens in the Attic," which hits theaters this week, days after the release of her new album, Guilty Pleasure earlier this week.

"Bethany is really just the typical teenager," she told MTV News about her character in the flick that she describes as "The Goonies" meets "Home Alone." "She is someone who is just in love with her boyfriend Ricky and doesn't really see him for who he is. She doesn't really know what his intentions are. ... And then he starts being controlled by the aliens. Then she sees his true colors, and she sticks up for her family, and they try and fight off the aliens."

That boyfriend is played by up-and-coming heartthrob and "Step Up 2 The Streets" star Robert Hoffman, who along with several of their co-stars kept Tisdale in stitches on the set. "[Robert] would just say funny things to me," she said. "Between him, Kevin Nealon, Andy Richter and Doris Roberts, you could not keep a straight face the entire time. They're all really funny."

Tisdale admitted that she didn't quite get Hoffman's sense of humor at first. "Oh, yeah, Robert's a different story," she said. "Robert's a funny guy. You know, his personality is very different, and so people could be kind of weirded out by him at first. It was a lot of fun working with him, but we just didn't have the chemistry at first. It was awkward at first, 'cause we didn't get each other. He's a great guy, and I loved working with him, plus he takes over the movie."

Ashley Tisdale's new album, Guilty Pleasure, is out Tuesday (July 28) — and from the sounds of things, that guilty pleasure might be "American Idol." Not only has Tisdale talked about her obsession with "Idol," but several of the songs on the album show a strong Kelly Clarkson influence.

"I love Kelly Clarkson!" she said. "I think especially the single, 'It's Alright, It's OK,' definitely came from an inspired-by-Kelly [place], because when I was younger 'Since U Been Gone' was one of my favorite songs, whenever I was going through relationship problems, to put on. [It] made me feel so much better and that definitely inspired 'It's Alright, It's OK.' "

However, Tisdale is quick to note that her musical influences stretch far beyond pop music. "I definitely feel the Used. I've always been a big fan of Boys Like Girls, My Chemical Romance, Led Zeppelin," she said. "All those that I loved growing up inspired [my] second album."

But the Kelly Clarkson sound isn't the only "American Idol" influence on the album: Tisdale once again worked with "Idol" judge/ songwriter Kara DioGuardi on what she says is her favorite track on the album, "What If."

"Kara was a lot of fun. I worked with Kara on the first album," she said, adding that the pair finally got around to writing a song together for Guilty Pleasure.

"You know, we tried writing on the first [album], but I was so new to it and I was just learning about myself as an artist. I could tell I grew as an artist, not only in my vocal but also in my writing, because on the second [album], when we got together ... and then we wrote a song together. She definitely knows what she's talking about. She's definitely a little headstrong and I am too. I look up to her."

It seems Ashley Tisdale likes Boys Like Girls. Tisdale, whose new album Guilty Pleasure hits stores later this month, jumped at the chance to work with the pop-rockers when they asked her to be in the their new video for "Love Drunk," off their album of the same name, out September 8.

"Actually, I'm a really big fan of Boys Like Girls," Tisdale told MTV News on the video's set. "I love their music. It's super exciting. I've always dreamt about being in it."

Tisdale did explain that she had to make one adjustment before signing on for the role — she had to tone down her style for the video. "I think it's very the cute-girl, jeans-shorts kind of beachy-casual, but nice. Those are the things we went through," she explained. "I used to smoke out my eyes and be rocker, so for this I toned it down."

The love that Tisdale feels for the band isn't one-sided. "When we were thinking about girls for the video, it seemed like it would be a great idea to bring her in," frontman Martin Johnson said.

"I think she's going to kill the role," he added, hinting that "she's in a bunch of different scenarios, a couple of different dudes. We're super stoked to have her a part of it. It's cool to have a fan of the band that's an actress come in and want to be a part of it."

And if any of you might be thinking that the guys of Boys Like Girls will be drunk with desire for Tisdale in the video, think again. The song isn't exactly about falling in love. "It's obviously not about being in love," Johnson said. "It's about giving the F.U. to a relationship and a situation.

"It's fun. It's kind of celebrating — skipping your way out gracefully with a nice flip of the bird rather than crying your way home to mommy. It's cool, 'cause the song has a twist to it. It's about having been love-drunk and then saying goodbye."

"High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale is still stunned by Michael Jackson's unexpected death last week. Only a day before he died, Jackson was rehearsing for his upcoming 50-date London concert series with "High School Musical" director Kenny Ortega.

And though the 23-year-old actress and singer wasn't even born when Thriller came out, she told MTV News that Jackson was a big influence on her music and the work of her "HSM" castmates.

"I've loved Michael Jackson, his music, his music videos," Tisdale said. "I mean, the man made music videos what they are today. So, I've always been inspired by him. I think he's such a great dancer.

"It was definitely a shock," she added of Jackson's sudden passing. "It's really hard when a celebrity dies out of nowhere, 'cause it's very shocking ... surreal."

Tisdale was looking forward to seeing what Ortega and Jackson would be debuting on July 13, when Jackson was scheduled to kick off his This Is It tour. She said she and her "HSM" buddies were going to make the trek overseas to see it for themselves.

"We were all gonna go see him in London and go visit and watch the show," she said, adding that the show would have also included dancers from the "HSM" movies. "We had a lot of our dancers in the production as well. I know they're going through as really hard time as well. Hopefully, he's in a better place now."

On Monday, the fan-selected nominees were announced for this year's MTV Movie Awards. Naturally, the news spread all over the Web like wildfire. But, as it turns out, it wasn't just us common folk who were eager to weigh in on the results.

"I got nominated for an MTV award!!!!" Miley Cyrus gushed on her Twitter page. "Yayyy :)"

The "Hannah Montana: The Movie" star was nominated for "Breakthrough Performance Female," as well as the brand-new category of "Best Song From a Movie" for her hit single "The Climb." She directed her loyal fans to the page where they could vote for her.

As Miley and her fans flooded our voting site, other nominees were finding it equally hard to contain their enthusiasm. "OMG just found out I'm nominated for breakthrough female MTV Movie Award!!!!!!!" "High School Musical 3" star Ashley Tisdale wrote on her Twitter page. "Aaahhh, I am so excited this is my first nomination!"

Tisdale also directed her followers to the MTV site to help decide her race against Miley, Vanessa Hudgens, Freida Pinto and Kat Dennings. "Thanks so much to all the fans who helped me get nominated and please keep voting!" Tisdale Tweeted later. "I love you guys."

"Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" star Dennings also weighed in, Tweeting about her selection as a Breakthrough Female Performance Female contender opposite Tisdale: "MTV Movie Award nom ... awww."

Then there was "17 Again" star Thomas Lennon, who took time out from talking about Zac Efron to tell the world that he was thrilled to be recognized for his "I Love You, Man" smooch with another veteran funnyman. "Paul Rudd and I just got nominated for BEST KISS in the MTV Movie Awards!" the "Reno 911!" actor Tweeted, urging his followers to help him battle it out with fellow kissers Vanessa Hudgens/ Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart/ Robert Pattinson, James Franco/ Sean Penn, Freida Pinto/ Dev Patel and Angelina Jolie/ James McAvoy. "Vote for us!"

With the release of Zac Efron's "17 Again" on April 17, it's "High School Musical" alumni week. MTV News is going to catch you up on what the future holds for all of your favorite East High Wildcats!

Although V Factory's Jared Murillo may have wanted to hit the road with his then-girlfriend, Ashley Tisdale, it seems that won't be an option for the pair.

According to Us Magazine, Tisdale and Murillo have split. "They have not been dating for a while now," the source tells Us. "They just grew apart, but are remaining friends."

Back in March, MTV News asked Tisdale how things were going between the two, and the singer seemed apprehensive to talk about the relationship. Just a few days later, Murillo complimented the Tisdale's upcoming album, Guilty Pleasure, without a hint that something was wrong between the two. "Yeah, maybe [a tour together] could be a possibility," he said. "Her album is going to be great. I think everyone's going to be surprised."

Now that Tisdale is back on the singles' scene, perhaps she can find the perfect guy that she described as "just someone you can be comfortable with and that you can ... I mean, I always have to be dressed up all the time for my work so when I'm home I just like to be in sweats and comfortable," she told Us. "And just someone you can laugh with, someone you can have fun with. I love to laugh and laugh at myself."

V Factory may not play their own instruments like the Jonas Brothers, but they're banking on the tried-and-true boy-band formula to make them successful: Throw together five good-looking young men who sing catchy songs and watch the girls swoon.

"I never dreamed I was going to be in a boy band, ever," Asher Book told MTV News. "But it's down my alley because I've always been in the music world and the acting world."

Although being five guys from five different backgrounds was hard to get used to at first, the guys eventually worked it all out. "It took us a while to find our sound. We all get along, so it worked out," Wesley Quinn said. "We all wanted to be in the entertainment industry somehow."

Another thing the guys have gotten used to is the constant inquiries as to just what the name "V Factory" means. But they're still not telling. "It's a hidden meaning between all of us," Book said. "People usually come up with their own thing. The 'factory' part of our name originated from a popular nightclub in New York called the Sound Factory where Madonna hung out."

The guys, who recently released their single "Love Struck" and expect to put out a record this summer, are also looking forward to hitting the road in a few months, although they don't know who they'll be sharing the stage with just yet. "I think Lady Gaga has a lot going for her," Quinn said, before the perfect tourmate became obvious.

Since Ashley Tisdale has a new album coming out and she's dating V Factory member Jared Murillo, a summer tour might be the perfect way to keep the romance alive. "Yeah, maybe that could be a possibility," he said. "Her album is going to be great. I think everyone's going to be surprised."

America is obsessed with "American Idol," and this obsession doesn't just consume the lives of everyday people. On occasion, celebrities even get sucked into the world of "Idol." One of those celebs is "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale.

"I vote for them," she told MTV News of her favorite "Idol" contestants. "My friend was making fun of me, 'cause I was voting for them."

For Tisdale, her love of the show and its contestants goes far beyond just voting for her favorites every week. It also means that, given the opportunity, she will do everything in her power to try and meet "American Idol" hopefuls.

"I was stalking them at the recording studio," she said of the current "Idol" cast. "I was recording, and my producers were, like, trying to get me to record a song, and I was just like, 'The American Idols are over there, and I vote for these people. I need to go say hi.' "

She eventually made her way out of her recording booth to try to meet some of the singers. "I was freaking out," she remembered. "I waited for Danny [Gokey] to come out of the bathroom, and he was, like, freaking out. He was so excited. I didn't get to meet any of the girls."

Given the chance to meet any of the ladies, Tisdale knows who she'd pick. "I'm a big fan of Megan [Joy], 'cause I think she's unique and different."

For those of you who may have blinked and missed it, Ashley Tisdale made a little appearance in the now cult classic "Donnie Darko" way back in the day. Don't remember her? Here's a little refresher: Tisdale played Kim, the dorky girl who tells a motivational speaker that she thinks her stepsister eats too much, before being told to shut up by the girl in question. The small role came up during a conversation about which actors Tisdale would most like to work with.

"I would love to work with Jake Gyllenhaal ... Johnny Depp. I love Kate Hudson. She's one of my favorites," Tisdale told MTV News before recalling her one amazing day of working with "Donnie Darko" star Gyllenhaal back in 2001.

"I was in one scene with him. I met him and he was the nicest guy in the entire world. At the premiere he even remembered who I was," she said. "I was there for a day. I had, like, two lines. But I'd like to actually do another scene with him, more."

Now that she's got some extra time on her hands thanks to the fact that she won't be reprising her role as Sharpay for anymore "High School Musical" movies, she might get the chance. And it won't necessarily be something funny, like her new movie "They Came From Upstairs," or something that requires lots of emoting through song like "HSM."

"Maybe something normal soon," she said, contemplating future movie roles. "I mean, ['HSM'] was a musical, so maybe [I should try] something dramatic. That'd be cool."
