Aron Airaghi aka Aquadrop (Eight:FX / Trenchant Dubs / Abstract Logic Recordings / Get Hype) is a dj and composer from Milan, Italy. Encouraged by his father's passion for music and vinyl records, Aquadrop also began collecting and mixing vinyl. As a young aspiring musician, he learned to play the piano, flute and eventually went on to learn and incorporate scratching into his mix sets.
After refining his mixing and mastering technique, he founded a Funk / Jazz quintet called The Natural 6 in 2001. The band was made up of Luigi Lavermicocca (contrabass), Filippo Cozzi (sax), Romeo Velluto (guitar) and John Wilson of East Milan (voice). The band was honored to be two time winners of the Italian Lifegate Radio Music Starter for exceptional work on their songs. In 2004 Aquadrop was asked to select the music for the Fabio Novembre exhibition at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano. During that same year his composition The Salt Dance was picked by John Altman as the winning track of the European award In the Name of Salt, organized by Bettina Werner.
He is currently working as the sound designer for Good 50X70, which is an international design exhibition. He has held this position since 2005. He also worked as curator, composer and dj with Triennale di Milano, Palazzo Reale di Milano, Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnica Leonardo da Vinci, Fondazione Corriere della Sera, Arena, Custo Barcelona, Diesel, Le Coq Sportif, Illy, Moleskine, Moroso, Connie Douglas and Magnolia.
