Full Biography

  1. Inspired by the progressive post-hardcore trance-metal of Neurosis and Isis, Sacha Dunable (guitar/vocals), Dean Workman (guitar), Jordan Ruble (bass/vocals), and Alex Bytnar (drums) formed Anubis Rising in Los Angeles, CA, in 1999, going on to record several demos, EPs, and a split album with colleagues Uphill Battle before breaking up in 2004. By then Ruble had been replaced by Matt Snell, and the band's disappointing end was only assuaged somewhat by the release of 2005's posthumous anthology, Funerary Preamble, with the musicians moving on to new projects like Mange and Intronaut. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
