Rob Zombie Taps Monster Magnet, Fear Factory For Tour, Picks Rev. Horton Heat, Amazing Crowns, Others For "Halloween Hootenanny"

After leaving this fall's Family Values tour under less than cordial circumstances, Rob Zombie has wasted no time in putting together his own metal caravan as well as a few other surprises.

Zombie will join Monster Magnet and Fear Factory for a fall tour that is expected to kick off on October 6. The outing will see the White Zombie frontman roll out material from his soon-to-be-released solo album, "Hellbilly Deluxe," and roll out the larger-than-life stage production he had hoped to mount as part of the Family Values tour.

Considering that just two weeks ago, Zombie was part of the Family Values tour, the singer has put together a formidable line-up. Fear Factory turned heads with a run on last year's Ozzfest and with their recently released album "Obsolete," while, Monster Magnet is generating buzz with its glitz-encrusted Mase-spoofing video for "Space Lord" off of its "Power Trip" LP.

Zombie has another October project in the works in the form of "Halloween
Hootenanny," a compilation from his recently launched Zombie a Go-Go Records.

The Cramps, the Rev. Horton Heat, and Zombie a Go-Go Records' own the Bomboras will be on the record when it arrives this October. Zombie himself will also turn up on the album, lending his vocals to a track by another Zombie a Go-Go signing, the Ghastly Ones.

A number of other artists may join the line-up as well, including the Misfits and the Amazing Crowns (the artists formerly known as the Amazing Royal Crowns before losing a legal decision to the Royal Crown Revue).

"We're wrapping up a song for a Halloween compilation on Rob Zombie's label, Zombie A Go-Go, it's called the Halloween Hootenanny I believe," Crowns frontman Jason "King" Kendall told MTV News during a recent stop on the Warped tour. "The Cramps are on it, the Misfits, Horton Heat, and we're doing a Screamin' Jay Hawkins cover, 'Little Demon,' [500k QuickTime] so we're going
to do that and we're also going to start the new album."

A spokesperson for Geffen records, which handles Zombie's label, could not confirm that the Crowns or the Misfits would be on the album, but we'll keep you posted as Zombie's plans for a tour and the "Halloween Hootenanny" develop.

Royal Crown Revue Wins Legal Battle With Amazing Royal Crowns Over Name Confusion

The punk/rockabilly band Amazing Royal Crowns will have to change its name before August 31st as part of a settlement agreement with the jazz/swing band Royal Crown Revue.
The latter act asserts that the bands' names were too similar and likely to cause confusion, which could result in a loss of revenue for both Royal Crown Revue and its label Warner Bros. Records.

According to a spokesperson for the Providence, Rhode Island-based band Amazing Royal Crowns, the group was told of the impending suit in late May, for which they filed an injunctive relief in New York. On that same day, the California-based band Royal Crown Revue filed a preliminary injunction in California's Central District U.S. Court to stop them from using the name. The Amazing Royal Crowns then filed a motion for a continuance due to a lack of funds and their tour schedule, which was denied by Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer on Monday (June 29), according to a spokesperson for the group.

Since the act and
its label Monolyth/Velvel Records couldn't risk the possibility of a ruling against them, which would have resulted in a cease and desist order, they decided to settle the case. Aside from the name change, no other details have been announced of the settlement as of yet. The Amazing Royal Crowns, who are currently in the midst of a national club tour, had their new single, "Do the Devil," shipped to stores on the day of the ruling.
