Canadian-born rocker Bryan Adams has lined up a mini-tour of eastern U.S. theaters that gets going on March 31 in Minneapolis.
Seven shows have been confirmed, and a spokesperson for the artist's booking agency told MTV News that it's possible more dates may be added in May.
While Adams tours extensively, he rarely plays the U.S. these days, preferring instead to enjoy his popularity in other parts of the world. His twelfth album, "The Best of Me", a greatest hits collection with two new songs, has been met with strong sales outside the U.S. since its release last fall, though it remains unreleased Stateside. Adams completed over 120 concerts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East in 1999 and played less than a dozen shows in the U.S.
He toured his Canadian homeland in January and is currently en route to Australia for another two-week jaunt. He's traveling with what he refers to as his stripped-down power trio, which consists of Adams, longtime guitarist Keith
Scott, and drummer Mickey Curry.
Meanwhile Adams, who now makes his home in London, England, gave a surprise London performance joining Nick Bracegirdle (a.k.a. Chicane) on stage Tuesday night in front of an invite-only audience. The duo performed the newly released Chicane song "Don't Give Up," which also features Adams. The song was also included as a hidden track on "The Best Of Me."
Adams' U.S. shows are as follows:

3/31 - Minneapolis, MN @ State Theatre
4/1 - Milwaukee, WI @ Riverside Theatre
4/3 - Detroit, MI @ State Theatre
4/4 - Buffalo, NY @ Shea's Performing Arts Center
4/5 - Cleveland, OH @ Palace Theatre
4/7 - Boston, MA @ Orpheum Theatre
4/8 - Philadelphia, PA @ Tower Theatre

It seems that lately Bryan Adams really knows how to spice up his life.
The Canadian rocker duets with Sporty Spice on the song, "When You're Gone," which appears on Adams' latest album, "On A Day Like Today." The pairing marks a definite appeal to a younger demographic, as Adams has previously collaborated with the likes of Celine Dion, Sting, Rod Stewart and even Barbra Streisand.
MTV News caught up with Adams and his Sporty partner at a New York video shoot for the song, which features the duo in various stages of romantic angst. While on the set, Mel C recalled the Spice Girls' first encounter with Adams.
"The first time we met," Mel C recounted, "it was in London at 'Top of the Pops,' and we were doing 'Say You'll Be There." Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm has recorded a duet with Canadian pop-rocker Bryan Adams for a new Adams album due out in late October.
Chisholm's participation was confirmed by a spokesperson at Adams' management agency in Vancouver. The song is called "When You're Gone." Producer Bob Rock was scheduled to finish mixing the CD at Adams' Vancouver studio this past weekend.
The two reportedly first met at an airport. Later, when Adams was looking for a vocalist to record a track on his forthcoming album, "On A Day Like Today," he gave her a call. This is Mel C's second Canadian-related duet. In late July she flew to Montreal for the opening of a Planet Hollywood restaurant and sang "Down In Hollywood" with movie star cafe owner Bruce Willis.
Meanwhile Scary Spice Mel G, the former Mel B, is seeing her duet with Missy Elliott for the soundtrack to "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" topping the charts.
Even Emma has gotten the duet bug. She performed a song with Rod Stewart
on the British TV show "An Audience With..." which aired on the ITV network this past summer.

The new Bryan Adams album now has a title and an official release date. Both the album and the single will be called "On A Day Like Today," with the album out October 20. The song will be delivered to radio September 23.
As previously reported by MTV News, the single is a mid-tempo track co-produced by Adams and Phil Thornalley, a former bassist with The Cure and the producer of Natalie Imbruglia's hit single,"Torn." That song and much of the rest of the album was recorded in Jamaica. Adams historically packs up his mobile studio into a dozen suitcases and records in exotic locations. The tune was mixed by Bob Clearmountain at Adams' own Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada. Bob Rock has also contributed production on the record.
The video is being shot on a studio backlot in Los Angeles on August 15 and 16 by Joseph Kahn, whose previous credits include Brandy & Monica, Backstreet Boys, Aalayah and Montell Jordan.
Adams turns up on MTV's "Fanatics" next Monday, August
17 at 11 p.m. EDT.

It's anybody's guess what the next Bryan Adams album will sound like, but it's a fair bet it will reflect more than one influence. Sources at the singer's management company confirm that Adams is currently recording with both modern rock guru Phil Thornalley and metalhead Bob Rock. A spokesperson for that company told press sources that the respective producers were working on a couple of tracks each.

Thornalley toured and recorded with The Cure in the mid-80s, and launched a successful studio career producing and/or engineering such artists as XTC, the Thompson Twins, PreFab Sprout, the Psychedelic Furs and most recently, Natalie Imbruglia. Rock's recent projects have included Motley Crue, Metallica and Verucca Salt.

The new Adams album is due this fall. A Thornalley/Adams collaboration, to be released at the end of the summer, will be the record's first single.

Adams' last studio effort was 1996's "18 Til I Die," a straight ahead rocker that ran counter
to his image as ballad singer and soundtrack king. Adams' last album was the pop-ish "MTV Unplugged" album released last year.
