  1. Act As If is the project of Los Angeles singer/songwriter Peter Verdell, who adopted the band name in 2005 after recording and self-releasing his first EP. At the time, Verdell's efforts were split between his band and working as A&R assistant for indie-label Drive-Thru Records (New Found Glory, Hellogoodbye). In 2008, he left the label to pursue his band full time.

    Act As If's first full-length album--an even blend of indie-rock, pop, and folk, entitled There's a Light--was released digitally in May 2010. Verdell wrote and produced the 11-song album, in addition to performing all drums, guitars, piano, synths and vocals.
