What happens when you try to balance the love and hate in your life? Just ask Papa Roach, whose Lovehatetragedy comes out Tuesday (June 18). The follow-up to Infest features the single "She Loves Me Not" and finds frontman Jacoby Shaddix (f.k.a. Coby Dick) grappling with marital strife.

As the guitar player for Alice in Chains and friend of their late frontman, Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell is also familiar with moody music. He serves up Degradation Trip, his first album since 1998's Boggy Depot.

On a lighter note, Wyclef Jean's not hiding his enthusiasm that Masquerade hits stores this week, while Guided By Voices and their Universal Truths and Cycles share shelf space with Our Lady Peace's Gravity, Paulina Rubio's Border Girl and Paul Oakenfold's Bunkka, which features Nelly Furtado, Perry Farrell, Ice Cube and Tricky.

Finally, a bunch of Essentials and Anthology albums from greats such as Alice Cooper, Devo and Cameo hit shelves as well. Word up.

He beat Shaq, and now he's taking on the rest of the country.

Aaron Carter, whose Aaron's Party (Come Get It) jumps 11 spots to #4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, is launching a 46-date American tour on June 17 in Santa Barbara, California.

Sweden's A*Teens will open the shows, which will hit amphitheaters and arenas from the West Coast to the East.

Aaron, the male Carter for those who find older brother Nick too wizened for their tastes, is riding on the success of his single, "That's How I Beat Shaq," which he performed at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday and will play on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Tuesday.

On the strength of "Shaq," Aaron's Party (Come Get It) was recently certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Before heading out on the summer tour, Carter will finish his run on Broadway, where he stars as JoJo Who in "Seussical the Musical" through May 6 (see "Aaron Plays A Who — Teen Pop Star On Broadway").

The Abba-loving A*Teens are also enjoying a hot streak. Their second record, Teen Spirit, climbs this week from # 96 to # 63 on the Billboard 200. The group, whose current single is "Bouncing Off the Ceiling (Upside Down)," presented at the Kid's Choice Awards and are taping a concert for the Fox
Family Network that will air sometime in August.

The A*Teens are currently back home resting and relaxing in their homeland of Sweden, and in July the band will return to the U.S. to support its debut CD, "The ABBA Generation," during an opening stint on Britney Spears' summer tour.

The teen group was forced to take the break and cancel a European tour after Dhani Lennevald injured himself during the A*Teens' brief American run in late April (see "A*Teens' Dhani Recovering; Band Talks Britney Tour").

The group's video for its cover of ABBA's "Dancing Queen" is currently in rotation at MTV, and the clip pays homage to one of the classic '80s teen films, John Hughes' 1985 high school comedy-drama, "The Breakfast Club."

Despite the film's popularity in America, the A*Teens admitted to MTV News that they actually hadn't seen the film prior to starting work on the video, as the band members were barely out of the womb when the movie was first released.

The ABBA-singing Swedish teen group the A*Teens have just wrapped up a short promotional tour of America, an outing that will set the stage for the quartet's appearance on the Britney Spears tour this summer.

Unfortunately, the A*Teens' Dhani Lennevald injured himself during the first of two shows at Disneyland's Tomorrowland Terrace in Anaheim, California, and Dhani was forced to sit out the last two dates with a partially torn ligament in his inner thigh.

"It [happened] at Disneyland when we did a performance there," Lennevald told MTV News. "It was in the last song, 'Mamma Mia,' during the last jump, when me and Amit [Paul] jump over the girls and land in a sort of split. And yeah, there is where it happened. Suddenly it was like my [leg] muscle had pulled off."

"It was so scary," added A*Teens bandmate Sara Lumholdt. "It was really scary." [RealAudio]

Lennevald is expected to fully recover in time for the band's opening stint on Britney's tour, which begins on July 19 in Dallas and continuing through an August 14 show in Salt Lake City.

The injury will also give the A*Teens a much needed break, as the group has been on the road non-stop in Europe, Asia, and America since issuing its debut album, "The ABBA Generation" overseas last fall and scoring a pair of European hits with covers of "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen."

"We were supposed to go to Asia [next]," commented Amit Paul, "but thanks to Dhani, we have two weeks off."

"You're welcome," Dhani joked.

The A*Teens are slated to release "The ABBA Generation" here in America on May 23 and will be pushing their "Dancing Queen" single during their summer jaunt with Spears.

After a brief opening stint for 'NSYNC last fall, the Swedish teens say they're looking forward to playing the same size crowds once again, this time with Britney, an artist they all admire.

"We did the 'NSYNC tour, and that was like five gigs, and [after that] you felt like you wanted [to play for] more," Amit said, "and now, finally, we get to do more. It'll be so fun playing to all these people, 15,000 [seat] venues and stuff like that."

"It's amazing to perform before her," Sara said, Amit said.

"Actually, I would like to say to her that I really like what she's doing," Sara concluded, "[and say it] face-to-face, because there are many people looking [up] to her right now." [RealAudio]

Other confirmed openers for Britney Spears' summer tour, which will now begin on June 20 in Columbia, Maryland, include BBMak and Innosense, both of whom will share the opening slot up through a July 9 show in Detroit.

Revised dates for Britney Spears' summer tour:

6/20 - Columbia, MD @ Merriweather Pavilion
6/21 - Hartford, CT @ Meadows Music Theatre
6/23 - Darien Lake, NY @ Darien Lake Theme Park
6/24 - Hershey, PA @ Hershey Park Arena
6/25 - Scranton, PA @ Montage Mountain
