Kathleen Butler was a prolific British writer of comedy material for music halls, radio and films. Butler's first movie credit was Old Mother Riley Joins Up (1939), starring raucous female impersonator Arthur Lucan. She also worked on such popular wartime diversions as Gert and Daisy's Weekend (1941), starring the cockney comedy duo of Gert and Daisy Waters. The "Kathleen Butler" who appears in prologue and epilogue, of A League of Their Own (1992) is a different person entirely. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
