Biography

Carrie Brownstein went to Evergreen State College and played music around Olympia, WA, with her riot grrrl band Excuse 17. In 1994, she and Corin Tucker formed Sleater-Kinney and proceeded to make solid yearly albums on independent labels. Mostly working as a guitarist and vocalist, Brownstein has also appeared a short film by video artist Miranda July and made her feature debut in Marilyn Freeman's ensemble film Group in 2002. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, Rovi
