Biography

Hailing from Switzerland, this swarthy-looking Universal player of the 1940s was usually cast as Philippine bellboys (Six Lessons From Madame La Zonga, 1941), servants (Madame Soy, 1942), and hotel clerks (Rhythm of the Islands, 1943) and rarely received billing. He did, however, have good roles in two memorable action serials: Adventures of Smilin' Jack (1943), as the chief henchman of the serial's master villain, the amusingly named Fraulein Von Teufel, and The Tiger Woman (1944), as Tegula, one of the natives battling the forces of evil. ~ Hans J.
