Biography

A former lawyer, Russian stage actor Boris Charsky fled to Germany during the 1917 revolution. A relative of UFA executive Osip Runish, Charsky played several important roles in German films prior to relocating to Hollywood in 1925. Although he did earn a few minor supporting roles in the late '20s, the former stage star became one of Hollywood's busiest dress extras, appearing in numerous unbilled bits until the year of his death. ~ Hans J.
