Biography

By all accounts a consummate wiseacre and goofball, Cash Cab host Ben Bailey took a back door into the realm of entertainment via a phone-answering job at the famed Comedy Store in the City of Angels. Impromptu interactions with the standup comics at that venue led one of the comedians to encourage Bailey to go on-stage with his own act. The experience imparted in Bailey a deep-seated love of standup comedy, and led to years of gigs at venues around the world and on television. His resumé includes appearances on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and innumerable other programs. Bailey also established himself as a formidable soap opera actor, as Haskell on the long-running One Life to Live, and tackled a small role in the 2003 feature film Bad Meat. Subsequently appearing in such features as Don't Shoot the Pharmacist! and Bad Parents, Bailey hosted the mobile television game show Cash Cab for five years beginning in 2005, and went on to host the NBC reality game show Who's Still Standing, which premiered in 2011. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
