Filmmaker Mark Herzog follows Pulitzer Prize-winning author David McCullough as he travels the country to deliver a speech to legislators, ascends the same Philadelphia church's steeple tower as John Adams did two centuries prior, studies a letter written by Adams to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776, takes a trip back to his old Brooklyn neighborhood and enjoys his annual walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and shares his uninhibited enthusiasm for writing while allowing the viewer a glimpse of the modest "world headquarters" where he does most of his work. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
