Hosted by Ruby Rose & Ed Sheeran
We can't believe it's over! The 2015 MTV EMAs have officially come to an end, but with show-stopping performances and a star-studded guest list, Milan will always remember the epic night that was the 2015 EMAs.
Right from the start, the host-with-the-most, Ed Sheeran, opened up the legendary event with his badass co-host Ruby Rose. Next up, hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis shut down the stage with their smash hit "Downtown" that really got the audience on their feet. This was just the beginning of a night filled with jaw-dropping performances. Other heart-stopping performances included Jason Derulo's "Want To Want Me" Hover Board dance off, Ellie Goulding's chilling vocal masterpiece for "Love Me Like You Do", and twenty one pilots' head-butting rock show during "Tear My Heart." Did we mention our host Ed Sheeran took the stage with Rudimental in a must-see performance for "Lay It All On Me"?
But time stopped when the night's biggest winner took the stage for a heavily choreographed performance of chart-topping single, "What Do You Mean?" JUSTIN BIEBER SHUT DOWN MILAN, ya'll - just like we knew he would. When he wasn't showing off his smooth vocals and oh-so adorable smile, the Biebs was racking up awards, taking home shiny statues for Best Male, Biggest Fans, Best Collaboration, Best Canadian Act, Best North American Act, and Best Look. He wasn't the only one of our faves who left with some major steel though. Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Troye Sivan who took home the coveted Artist On The Rise were just a few celebs to walk away winners.
And the music didn't stop there. Who could forget Jess Glynne kicking off the second half of the show with her disco-inspired medley, or when James Bay serenaded the crowd with "Hold Back The River"? Not surprisingly, one of the most memorable moments of the night came when Tori Kelly belted out her latest single "Should Have Been Us" to a round of applause. The rising soultress didn't stop there. She delivered one of the baddest throwback medleys of "No Scrubs" / "Real Love" / "Ready or Not" we have ever heard. All hail kween Tori! Of course, there wouldn't be a show without a closing act, and who better to conclude the evening with a bang than the one and only Skateboard P aka Pharrell Williams. His lively, colorful performance for "Freedom" set the tone for a night that blew our minds.
Seriously, the 2015 MTV EMAs are already missed, but you can re-live all the action right here. See ya next year!
