Down in West Virginia, Leah has had her third child, baby Addie with husband Jeremy. Leah maintains a strong co-parenting relationship with Corey, who has also moved on and married a girl named Myranda. Things get tough for Ali when her specialist reveals that her condition, a rare form of muscular dystrophy, will probably get worse and cause her to rely on a wheelchair. In denial, Corey refuses to recognize Ali's condition, but finally Leah convinces him to enroll her in preschool early to get a head start. The family struggles to work with Aleeah, who has been acting out reacting to all the attention on Ali and the new baby.
Meanwhile Leah and Jeremy’s relationship begins unraveling as his long stints away from home for work take a toll. Jeremy ends up fainting at work for stress, but their battle about him taking a job closer to home continues to rage. With their marriage on the rocks, Leah proposes counseling and prepares for Ali to get her new wheelchair.
