TRUE LIFE: I’M ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA
Are you in an unhealthy relationship with your phone and social media? Has the time come for you to detach for the sake of your health and wellbeing? Does your mood depend on the number of likes/views your posts get each day? Has your quest for likes led you to live for the ‘gram and not the real experience? Do you carry several charged phones at once in the event of breakage or the battery dying? Do you obsessively seek out places to charge your phone or access to the Wi-Fi to the point that it affects you socially? Do you base your travel, love life, and social life around the reception you hope to receive online from virtual strangers? Have your family and friends accused you of using social media as a way to escape reality and threaten to stage an intervention? Perhaps you suffer physical withdraws or anxiety at the mere thought of separation from your phone. Does the idea of a life offline terrify you? Are you considering going to rehab or counseling to get help?
