So, Brit, you've been craving pickles and ice cream — together? Don't be embarrassed. Milk, fruit, chocolate and salty snacks are the most common cravings during pregnancy, according to Dr. Janet Pope, an associate professor of nutrition at Louisiana Tech University. Eating pickles with ice cream — as gross as that sounds — isn't a problem as long as it doesn't prevent you from eating more nutritious foods. You should consider whether the cravings might be a reflection of deficiencies in your diet. If so, that's easy enough to fix. But beware if nonfood items like cigarette butts, laundry detergent, wax or dirt start looking super scrumptious, that's a disorder called pica, and it's dangerous. Tell your doctor, and whatever you do, don't put those things in your mouth, no matter how tempting they might seem ...

Be sure to check back next week and every week as we add to our list of baby tips for Britney and expectant mothers everywhere. But remember, the best advice for you is the advice you get from your doctor.
