Representing: Largo, Maryland
Mixtape: Game Tight Volume 5 double CD (with Ben Ha Meen), Street Wars Vol. 11 and R&B Chronicles Chapter 11 (with DNA)
411: P-Cutta is putting in with four new releases. He's cooking beef, playing R&B joints and has a little something for the dirty South. Woooo.
Joints To Check For:
- "Supa N---a" by Bone Crusher (from Game Tight Volume 5, disc two). Jermaine Dupri told MTV a few weeks ago that Bone has a remix of this record coming out with Shaquille O'Neal. If you listen to the original version, though, it doesn't sound like Bone thinks he needs anybody. "Throw your shoulder back and stick your chest out/ Hey, throw your shoulder back and stick your chest out/ We're super n---as," he yells.
- "Rumors" by Main-O (from Street Wars Vol. 11). This one reminds you a little bit of 50 Cent's "How to Rob." Main-O addresses all the unverified word-of-mouth rumblings he and plenty of other people have heard in the street. He brings up rumors about certain female performers' sexual acts and certain MCs getting robbed and smacked.
- "Hot 2 Nite" mega remix by New Edition featuring Lil Scrappy, Fat Joe, Game and Black Rob (R&B Chronicles Chapter 11). Who in the world has time to listen to all those N.E. remixes? Cutta and DNA save time and consolidate most of the rappers who guested on the various "Hot 2 Nite" vocals on one track (there's no MJG rhymes on here).

Celebrity Favs
DJ Warrior, L.A. spinner and mixtape heavyweight, is elated that cats from his coast are finally repping. "My favorite records to spin in the club right now are 'How We Do' by Game and 'Drop It Like It's Hot' by Snoop. I like playing those because those are the only two West Coast records we can play in the clubs during prime time. We haven't had a West Coast anthem in a long time, especially back to back. I can play those three times in a row. Both are hot records out here."
The Streets Is Talking: News & Notes From The Underground
The new Nas and Busta Rhymes collabo, "Suicide Bounce" — from the November 30 release Street's Disciple — has already leaked to mixtapes (Nas also has a banger with Ludacris called "Virgo" out on the streets as well). As the "half man, half amazin' " tells it, there is a lot more to come. He and Bussa Bus are talking about joining for a supergroup, but think more in the vein of the Roots than the Firm.
"Me and Busta are forming a band," Nas said. "He's on the drums, I'm messing with the keys. We're trying to get Q-Tip in it, but that's further on down the road."
Yes, you read it right. Two of the greatest MCs of all time have been talking about playing instruments together and taking their show on the road.
"I saw Busta playing the drums, and we started talking about it from there," Nas said. "I had some ideas of my own. We started talking about forming a band and doing a record and a tour. Not a lot of publicity, just something we were going to do on our own for fun."
Beanie Sigel says there's nothing to glorify about going to jail. "I'll tell you now, I don't want to be there," Sigs said last week in New York. Last Monday, Beans started to serve his one-year-and-one-day prison term stemming from a federal gun charge.
But if you listen to the radio and mixtapes and watch TV during the next several months, it will feel like Sigel is still here. He worked like a madman to finish his upcoming LP, The B. Coming, and shot four videos before going to jail.
"We got an MP3 to my crib about 2:30, 3 p.m.," Sigel said of making a song with the Neptunes. "I did the song that night. I was on set about 7 a.m. the next morning doing the video."
Sigel, who says he's going to relax, plot and strategize while incarcerated, admits his biggest fear about going to prison is not being out of the public eye but getting used to life on the inside.
"I think that might be the scariest part, getting used to living that way," he said. "Once you get used to it, you're like, whatever. You won't monitor yourself or conduct yourself with the behavior you need to get out."
Sigel's new video, "Feel It in the Air," features an acting appearance from Method Man and just hit the airwaves. In addition to his B. Coming LP, Sig says he has 10 more "strong songs" sitting in his stash. He also just finished recording a new version of "The Truth" with Jaheim.
After his album drops, Sig says State Property are putting out Peedi Crakk's debut and their next family album, which is supposed to highlight Oschino and Sparks; an O and Sparks LP should follow shortly after that.
Sigel says there are no members to the S.P. chain gang, but he does endorse Joe Budden coming over to Roc-A-Fella proper if that deal materializes.
"I heard about that," he says. "That'll be good. I like Joe Budden."
