Joints To Check For:
"Y'all N---az Starvin" by Lloyd Banks featuring 50 Cent. The record starts off like a regular Lloyd Banks freestyle, with the Boy Wonder spraying battle raps like a housewife sprays Raid on roaches. "All of a sudden, n---as think they need to try me 'cause my video is on MTV." Then 50 comes in, not rapping but talking to Nas. "I heard that n---a Nas talk about me. He don't want it with me, he can't even f--- with my n---as. Did you hear this n---a Banks? Oh my God." 50 also addresses Shyne at the end of the freestyle. "What? Shyne talking about me? Oh, y'all didn't tell him what happened since he been gone. I run this sh--!" (For Nas' response to the track, keep reading.)
- "Everybody Love It" by Alchemist featuring Mobb Deep. "It's a plaque, everybody loves it." Al and his favorite MCs connect once again for another musical jewel made for the concrete.
- "Run It Back" by Busta Rhymes. "Roll out the carpet and make way for the rightful owner of the throne," Busta screams. He keeps his freestyle short and to the point, using every letter of his name to start sentences of his verse.

Celebrity Favs
Akon, author of the greatest prison-themed anthem since Elvis' "Jailhouse Rock," appreciates the self-proclaimed "Haitian Barry White." "Whoooooo Kid! That's my dawg right there," Akon said. "He's a grinder. I love Whoo Kid because he just be doing his thing. Always hustling. He has some mixtapes coming through now that I'm on. He's doing his thing."
The Streets Is Talking: News & Notes From The Underground
So why is 50 Cent calling out Nas? At his recent Central Park concert, Nas asked fans who they came to see. "Not that fake sh--," he said. "Not that 50 Cent." Last week, he explained himself. "I didn't throw no disses out. I just spoke like a man to the men in the audience about our music. If anybody got a problem with what I said, then they gotta speak to New York City. New York City said more than what Nas said. When they played certain records before I was onstage, that audience responded [by booing]. I just got onstage and asked them what was going on. So if you got a issue, come talk to your town and see what they feeling. But as far as that battle stuff, I leave that for the new dudes." Several months ago, the G-Unit's captain told MTV News he had a record in the can for Nas, just in case he was tested, but Nas shrugs it off. "Rappers take cheap shots at me all the time," he said. "I heard him say stuff about me before, other guys say stuff about me. I don't have a response for what these dudes are saying about me. ... Dudes know who I am, I always tell it how it is." ...
In next week's "Mixtape Monday," we'll tell you how Idris Elba, who plays Stringer Bell on HBO's "The Wire," came to the U.S. and not only put it down as an actor, but how he's getting burn in the clubs as a DJ. This week, however, we thought we'd drop a little jewel on you. Big Dris (his name when he's spinning) is in the midst of putting together his next mixtape with DJ Sickamore. It's called The Wire Wars. ... Speaking of new duos coming together, the word from Black Moon's camp is that the crew's frontman is working on his next album. This time around, Buck is said to have recruited Little Brother producer/DJ 9th Wonder to be his partner and produce all the tracks. The new group already has at least eight records done and plans to hit the studio together sometime next week. The album is titled Chemistry. ...
Memphis Bleek may be getting called out by Game on mixtapes, but M. Easy said he doesn't want to get into a back-and-forth. "Keep getting money, live your life," Bleek said nonchalantly. "I don't have time to be worrying about this one or that one. ... I ain't benefit or lose from [beefing on wax]. As I've seen, it keeps you in the same spot you started from. I don't want no part of it." Bleek's new 534 is due December 7. Look for M.O.P. to get down on the mic with him, and Trackmasters, Just Blaze and Bink are giving up tracks. Earlier in the year, Memph had said he wanted 9th Wonder to handle the majority of the production, but the producer didn't check in for as many tracks as first talked about. "I got two from 9th," Bleek said. "It's been a journey. I been going to n---as' houses for that heat. I went to Bink's crib, I went to Just's crib. Tonight I'm supposed to go to Tone from Trackmasters' crib." Bleek, who will be appearing on Jay-Z and R. Kelly's joint tour, has a record called "Yes" that's been getting spins on mixtapes, but it's looking like that's not enough for Bleek's big homie. "Jay is the extra, extra critic," Bleek said with a smile. "When it comes to my career, he's the biggest critic. ... He told me yesterday, 'Yo, we gonna pull that record and put out another one.' Being that it's where it's at, he's thinking that's it. Maybe it ain't the one. I'm telling him we ain't put no push behind it. He gave me two more weeks. He told me if it ain't at a certain spot on the charts, we gonna put out another record. I love the record, but that's the boss." ...
Well, being that everybody reads "Mixtape Monday," maybe you guys can sway Bleek and Jay's decision. Here's a snippet of "Yes." Tell us and the Roc what you think.
