DVD: "Beef II"
The 411: Here we go again. After documenting several hip-hop stars and their nemeses in "Beef," filmmaker QDIII goes for it again with the sequel. Fans already know about a lot of these feuds, but here it gets in-depth. For example, the DVD includes a phone call between LL Cool J and Canibus talking about the infamous "4,3,2,1" record that sparked their beef. One feud fans won't see is the battle between XXL and The Source — that segment was deleted.
Joints To Check For:
- "Cypress Hill vs. the Westside Connection." Even though the feud really started getting sparked up because Cypress thought Cube bit their "Throw Your Set in the Air" chorus for one of his songs, Mack 10 jumped into it with disses later down the line. "I had never met nobody from Cypress Hill, but I was with [Ice Cube] and I was riding with him," Mack explains. Their misunderstanding has now been settled, and all it took were a few phone calls.
- "D12 vs. Royce Da 5'9"." Wheeew. Unfortunately this one got a little out of hand and actually spilled off wax. It all started with a magazine article in Vibe, then it segued into freestyles where no holds were barred. Fortunately, the back-and-forth has ceased peacefully, though D12 and Royce will probably never sit at the Thanksgiving table together.
- "Big Bank Hank vs. Grandmaster Caz." This is definitely one a lot fans probably never heard about. The allegation here is serious: that "Rapper's Delight," one of the greatest rap records of all-time, was actually penned in part by a rapper not on the song. Caz says he wrote Hank's verse, but the Grandmaster was no ghostwriter — he says his rhymes were stolen by Hank. "I wrote damn near everything he says except little phrases he took from other people. I'm the 'Grandmaster with the three MCs,' " says Caz. Hank, who used to manage Caz, is not on the DVD to defend himself.

Mixtape slayer Big Mike gives props where they are due. C'mon, man, as far as exclusives, that's the one."

Look for Foxy Brown to hop back on her mixtape grind soon. Fox Boogie Brown says she's coming back and may have an album out in time for Christmas. Among her collaborators are the Trackmasters, Jay-Z and Shyne. Foxy has also jumped in the stew with none other than Akon for a remix of his hit "Locked Up." "I just wanted to give the jail thing from a female's perspective," she says.
