Left Eye introduced her dietary beliefs to many people, including the
staff of Tha Row, Marose said. "I was blown away one day when she was like,
'Everybody from Death Row is meeting tonight and Dr. Sebie is going to talk
to them.' She had Suge cleansing and off meat."
Suge said Lopes, as N.I.N.A., recorded several songs for his label but that
he doesn't know when they will be released. Left Eye's TLC group mates said
they'll definitely complete and release a new album this year since Left Eye
had recorded a handful of songs before her death.
Beyond her songs, though, Lopes had a vision and always sought to grow as an
artist and an entrepreneur. Aside from trying to secure a deal for Egypt
with DreamWorks Records, she was working on an animated project, a clothing
line, a line of designer eyewear and even a multimedia project incorporating
her autobiography.
"Of course, it's not a traditional autobiography," Marose explained. "She
titled it 'Open.' It was more of a documentation of her spiritual and
personal journey, which of course referred to the ups and downs of her life
but more as reference points of how she became who she is now. It's a
collection of essays, journal entries, drawings, lyrics and recipes."
Whether fans remember her as Lisa Nicole Lopes or Left Eye, one third of one
of the biggest-selling groups in history, one thing is for sure she
had the formula for success down and she was planning on branching out even
further.
"She told me her career as an artist ... she knew she needed to move more
into the mogul side in the next couple of years," Marose said. "There were
so many things that interested her, and she knew as an artist she would have
but so much effect. Working in other [areas] would sustain her."
