Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
Obviously Jay-Z grew as an artist since his entrance into the game; however, he pieced together a flawless masterpiece the first time around. It was the hustlers' soundtrack, but even if you had that legit income, you had no choice but to be captivated by Hov's words.
The Argument
Reasonable Doubt or The Blueprint? ...
Shaheem Reid: Reasonable Doubt, that was a barnburner. A major argument I have with a couple of my friends is that they say The Blueprint was better than Reasonable. I love Blueprint ... but Reasonable just hit me harder.
Rahman Dukes: My thing with Reasonable Doubt is the greatness with Jay as an MC. I mean, here you have a dude who kinda did his own promotions without the backing of a major label. He had a debut video with a cameo from B.I.G. For him to pull all that off says a lot about him as an individual.
Reid: Yeah. And plus, Reasonable had that classic collaboration with Big and Jay. Let's not even talk about the Mary joint. I mean, "Can I Live" didn't even come until the second side. Yeah, I said second side. I bought the cassette.
Dukes: The first time I heard "Can I Live" was on a DJ Clue mixtape. Following after "Ain't No N---a" I was convinced. I was an instant fan.
