Some wags swore it'd never happen.
But sure enough, the ladies of TLC have proven them all wrong with a return to the road for the second leg of their "Fanmail" tour, the first go-round of which was plagued by poor promotion, slow sales, and much-ballyhooed intra-group squabbling.
In-fighting that was blown out of proportion by the press, as the trio insisted to MTV News' Chris Connelly when he met up with TLC for an exclusive backstage interview on the second date of their freshly relaunched road trip. T-Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye displayed their sisterly solidarity as only they can, showing us all that the three are, indeed, together on this tour.
Also along for the ride is big-ticket tour newbie Christina Aguilera, who vaulted from "future one-hit wonder" to "today's super-duperstar" in the months since she was first being considered as an opening act for "Fanmail" Mark II. Riding high on the strength of her new hit "What A Girl Wants" and her two Grammy Award nominations, she's finally finding out what it's like to get sold-out stadium love.
