With the arrival of her second album, "Oops!... I Did It Again," just around the corner, MTV News' own Chris Connelly caught up with Britney Spears while she was taping a TV special in Hawaii.

In this installment of our three-part interview with the multi-platinum popstress, Miss Spears talks about the process of recording her new LP, how The Man didn't want her to rework the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction," and how her new tracks reflect her boosted self-confidence. Plus we've got exclusive Britney RealVideo you can't see anyplace else. Check it out, and look out for Part III of this interview in the near future.

Chris Connelly: You're been in Hawaii for two days for your TV special. Is it hard to get any kind of time to yourself when you've got a record about to come out and so much promotion and videos and stuff to do?

Britney Spears: Oh gosh, yes. I've been really, really busy. I felt so blessed just to have yesterday off. It's been so long since I've just been able to vegetate.

MTV: What did you do on your day off?

Britney: Well, I got up actually early -- I guess because I was so excited to be here. Normally I would have slept until two o'clock, but I got up early and I went on the beach, and all of the security was like, "We're going with you." I was like, "You know what? No. I'm going by myself." So I put my hat on and I just read my book for two hours. I'm a lobster, of course, now. I came back in, I just got a massage. It was nice. Nothing, really.

MTV: You're going to be taping a concert on the beach. Is this a way to warm up for that big tour you're going to drop later on this summer?

Britney: Actually, this show is going to be totally different than the show I'm doing this summer, because in this show, I'm only doing two songs from the new album. For the next tour, I'm doing [about] six new songs, which is good, because I've been singing the same material for so long now. It'll be nice to change it up a little bit.

MTV: All those medleys will sort of go by the wayside, huh? You'll have lots of hits to do.

Britney: Yeah, hopefully.

MTV: How strenuous is it for you to do something like this, though? There's so much dancing in your show and so much going on. What's it like for you?

Britney: It's really, really hard. I've really had to work on my breathing and have vocal coaches come out and help me with it, because like you said, I was dancing the whole time. But it's fun, though. It's a lot of fun. It's what I do. I'm a performer, and I just work it out.
