Setzer Interview
For Brian Setzer, a man who was churning out amped-up jump blues long before you could do the Lindy hop, the last year has provided more than a bit of vindication.

Setzer has witnessed the rock-flavored brand of swing that he's been crafting for the last four years bleed into the mainstream, and has seen his fourth album with the Brian Setzer Orchestra, "The Dirty Boogie," crack the "Billboard" top ten.

Of course, Setzer also got some help from "Swingers" and a certain Gap commercial in bringing the sounds of yesteryear to mass audiences of today, and he's more than willing to tip his cap to those media happenings. He mentioned both of those high profile items during a recent interview with MTV News Online's Robert Mancini. Setzer also went on to talk about the rise of his sound, his work with Gwen Stefani, the challenges of taking an orchestra on the road, and the fact that his breakthrough hit, "Jump, Jive An' Wail," almost didn't make it onto his album.

You can find that conversation here in our MTV News Online Feature of the Week, as well a few glimpses back at Setzer's first MTV incarnation, as frontman for the rockabilly revisionists the Stray Cats.
