"This iiis the story of a baaand..."
Nah, not really. But when a group's taken over rock radio with one of the most unshakeable hooks since Blink-182's "All The Small Things," it's kind of hard to resist.
Hailing from that suburban stretch o' land known as Long Island, New York, John Hampson and Brian Desveaux -- singers, guitarists, and songwriters both -- had been toiling together in L.I. bands for years before assembling the group that came to be known as Nine Days.
Now the guys have gone from playing to 10 people a bar to thousands each night while on tour with Third Eye Blind and Vertical Horizon. It's just one of those little success stories you can't help but love.
MTV Radio's Jeff Cornell sat down with Hampson and Desveaux to talk about the band's sudden leap into chartdom, its approach to "the big video" and the "big record deal," and their amazement at seeing people in the audience sing their songs back to them. Enjoy...
