MISFITS FEATURE

Much like his band The Misfits, you just can't stop Jerry Only.

An integral part of the mid-'70s New York punk scene, The Misfits cranked out a handful of releases during those formative years that haunted the punk and metal landscapes over the two decades that followed, inspiring the likes of Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and countless others. Not a bad legacy for a band that seemed to lose a key member when Glenn Danzig left the group in 1983. MISFITS

However, after several years of relative quiet, The Misfits returned in 1996 and continued to work on a punk rock biography that is about to enter its fourth decade. Now, Jerry and his revamped Misfits return yet again with "Famous Monsters," their second post-Danzig release. While banging the album together, the band also managed to hook up with legendary horror director George Romero for a new video as well as their big-screen debut. Never ones to let a spare moment go by, Only and The Misfits have also released a line of action figures and their unique version of the Halloween classic "Monster Mash."

Perhaps it's no surprise that when you sit down with Jerry, you find him to be every bit as inexhaustible as The Misfits seem to be. During a recent conversation with MTV News' Robert Mancini, Only steamrolled on these topics, as well as the love of classic sci-fi that shaped the Misfits and the reasons why the band will never, ever, swear on an album.

You can find that as well as plenty of RealVideo from The Misfits right here in our MTV News Online feature.
