MTV: Talk about expanding and revamping No Limit. What's happening with No Limit East?

Master P: No Limit East is already in effect. We have our East Coast acts that we've been signing. We're also looking for other talent on the East Coast -- that's what we're doing out here now. We have three acts signed. We got Snoop Dogg on the West Coast, we own the South, and now with No Limit East, that's being able to break the train right there.

MTV: Tell us a little bit about the movie "911." Are you filming that? What's the story about?

Master P: Well, basically, "911" is going to be a theatrical piece. It's about this guy who grew up in the ghetto, the perfect student, the perfect guy trying to change his life, being the best person he could be. His mom gets raped in the ghetto, and his dad gets killed, and his whole life is instantly changed. He lost the two people in his life that he loved, and he's pickin' up the phone and trying to dial 911, and nobody came to help him. He starts getting on drugs, he takes to the streets, and he just turned into a bad person. And people try to figure out what happened to this guy. Basically what we wanted to do was just show different sides of growing up in the ghetto, and why people go through and do some of the things they do. You still gotta learn how to put the pieces back together and stay focused. So I think it's going to be a good drama piece, this "911."

MTV: Are you in this movie, or are you just producing it?

Master P: Nah, I'm starring in it.

MTV: You also worked with Mystikal on the new album. We talked to Mystikal a little while ago, and he was really excited about his album. One of the things he said was that he owes a lot to Master P, and he was saying how he was going to work with you. How's the relationship between you and Mystikal? Because obviously, he's still working with you on a lot of projects.

Master P: You know, my thing is that No Limit is the brain, and we're all one big happy family. Whenever you grow past the brain, it's time to move on, and me and Mystikal had business together, and once our business relationship was over, we still had a friendship. We're doing our thing, he's doing his thing. I take my hat off to him. He had a great record, and it's time to keep moving. Now it's our time. My time's coming November 28th, Silkk's time is coming January 16, and then the TRU album keeps us moving from there. That's just a start.

The good thing about No Limit: You come into it and you can grow, and when it's your time and you wanna do it on your own, go ahead. But my whole thing is, if you go out there and it don't happen for you, and then you be mad at No Limit, that's called player hate. But if you go out there and do your thing and keep it real, I got the utmost respect for you. So Mystikal's thing is happening, and I take my hat off to him, but it's time we focus on what we've gotta do, 'cause it's our time now.

MTV: And what about Snoop? Is this going to be his last album on No Limit?

Master P: Yeah, Tha Last Meal is Snoop's last album. We got a good personal bond, and we're still going to be working with each other. We ain't trying to hold people back. If your contract expires, go on and do your thing. This Last Meal record with Snoop is going to be a big record for No Limit. It's going to be a part of history.

It's like a corporation; we lose employees every day. We're constantly bringing in new talent. It's a business. No Limit is bigger than just a rap company, we're diversifying, and people are going to respect us for being a corporation. The music thing is just a stepping stone. How many other rappers out there, if the music stopped tomorrow, are going to be able to survive? I think that's the difference with us. We're gonna be able to survive no matter what. [RealVideo]
