When you're still in your teens and Slick Rick's "Hey Young World" is the inspiration for your debut album title, your heart's just gotta be in the right place.Barely high-school age when he displayed his rhyme skills on 112's mack anthem "Anywhere," Lil' Zane built up a massive fan base comprised of both young and old, male and female; all of whom admired Z as much for his talent as for his good works, especially in and around his home community of Atlanta.
Zane next built on the momentum of his "Next Friday" soundtrack single, "Money Stretch," to record his full-length debut, "Young World: The Future." Other than making a return engagement with 112 on "Callin' Me," the young MC shrugged off big-name cameos because, in his own words, "I just wanted to introduce myself to you all first."
Humble and soft-spoken one minute and all brass the next, Lil' Zane sat down with MTV Radio's Curtis Waller and talked about putting his all into his first album, making his feature-film debut in the upcoming "Finding Forrester" with Sean Connery, and how being an Another Bad Creation fan helped him get his big break.
Check it out, young world...
