MTV: A lot of people might not know it, but you were on some No Limit records before, weren't you?Romeo: Yeah, I was on the intros for my dad's songs. It was real fun. I used to be shy a long time ago, but I started when I was three years old on the intros.
MTV: What do you think your music has to offer kids?
Romeo: You have your education, you have your fun, what kids like to do. I got an ABC song ["Your ABC's"] teaching you about the ABCs in a rap way. It's real good for the kids, and teens and the older people can bounce off it
MTV: Do you think you're opening up doors for kids your age who want to make music?
Romeo: Yeah, I think I'm opening the doors a lot, like Another Bad Creation did, Lil' Bow Wow. All the kids open up the doors. They opened it for me and we'll open it for other kids and do this thing right.
MTV: How has your life changed since your first video?
Romeo: I just travel more and a lot of people notice me in the mall. I'm having fun while I do this. I sign autographs for people. They just be, "Oh Romeo, can you sign this for my daughter?" And I do it for them. I'm not the mean type.
MTV: What do you think about when you're writing a song?
Romeo: Whatever I like to listen to and what I think the kids like to listen to, and me having fun and having a great time. I picture if I wasn't a rapper and I wanted to listen to something [what would it be]?
MTV: What inspired you to use the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" for your single, "My Baby"?
Romeo: It was a real good pop song. I liked the Jackson 5 a long time ago. I used to listen to that song and I really liked it and we made a deal and I got that track behind it.
MTV: Do you see a similarity between yourself and the Jackson 5?
Romeo: Yeah, because they started young and I'm starting young, too. Michael Jackson started one year before me.
MTV: Are you and Lil' Bow Wow friends at all?
Romeo: Yeah, we're good friends.
MTV: Are you doing any music with him?
Romeo: Probably next year you'll see us on something.
MTV: So he's somebody you'd like to work with?
Romeo: Yeah. I'd really like to work with him and I think all the fans would like us to work together too.
MTV: Are you the local ladies' man now? Do you have all the ladies chasing you?
Romeo: Yeah, a lot I guess.
