| They've been around for a decade, are on the road as often as any band in the land, long ago shed the "one-hit-wonder" label that so many critics plastered on them when "Shimmer" was hard to avoid on the radio; and still Fuel comes across as a bunch of guys who are working as if they're a struggling garage quartet.
Think it's mere coincidence that Fuel is a name band while the guys are still grinding it out like hungry young pups? Think again. The Pennsylvania-based act is a name band BECAUSE the guys are still grinding it out; they're not coasting after that first wave of success came courtesy of their gold major-label debut, "Sunburn." The now-Buzzworthy band's latest release, "Something Like Human" (produced by star helmsman Ben Grosse) finds Fuel even more comfortable exploring the limits of its aggressive, post-alt-rock sound.
MTV Radio's Heather Stas spoke with guitarist-vocalists Carl Bell and Brett Scallions about the new record, meeting Beck's dad, and hanging out in a complete stranger's house in the Poconos while recording their latest opus. Enjoy.
