Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne ... to many, they are the giants of heavy metal. However, to the members of Fozzy, they are something else entirely: thieving bastards.
As the band will tell you (whether you ask or not), an ill-advised record deal kept Fozzy toiling in obscurity in Japan for some 20 years. During that time, frontman Moongoose McQueen, guitarist Duke LaRue, bassist Shawn "Sports" Pop, drummer K.K. LaFlame and guitarist The Kid cranked out a string of heavy metal anthems which the band claims were then pilfered by the aforementioned acts.
Of course, there are others who claim that McQueen is actually World Wrestling Federation superstar Chris Jericho and the rest of Fozzy is comprised of members of Stuck Mojo, but the band denies such talk. The group also claims that after watching other groups ride their songs to rock stardom, Fozzy will now take their rightful place atop the metal kingdom. The band's U.S. debut hit stores earlier this month, and a documentary chronicling Fozzy's return to the States debuts on MTV on Sunday, November 26 at 8 p.m. (ET).
Before that, McQueen and LaRue sat down with MTVi News' Robert Mancini to discuss where the band has been, where it's going, and what it's likely to look like when it gets there.
Enjoy...
