| Maybe it's because they were signed to a major label while they were still in high school that Eve 6 was so conscious of avoiding a "sophomore slump" with their second release, "Horrorscope." After all, given the success of their platinum self-titled debut, who could blame Max Collins, Jon Siebels, and Tony Fagenson for feeling pressure to match that freshman effort?
Turns out that they and their fans needn't have worried. If anything, "Horrorscope" is stronger and more varied in both emotional and musical range than the band's first record, and the lead-off single, "Promise," is a bona fide hit, as is its accompanying video by director-of-the-moment Marcos Siega.
The Californians recently sat down with MTV Radio's Meridith Gottlieb just before kicking off another leg of their seemingly endless tour schedule. Healthy (singer Max's throat troubles of a year ago have cleared up), apparently happy, and still eager to bring their music to the masses, the three almost sound as if they've suddenly, inexplicably grown up.
Say it ain't so!
