| With Korn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, and numerous other purveyors of some form of hip-hopped-up metal thriving, music industry types told Biohazard that the time was right for its new CD.Of course, Biohazard couldn't care less. The band has been grinding together hardcore and hip-hop for more than a decade with no regard for consumer trends, demographics, or marketing strategies. Biohazard has always been about keeping it real in the simplest sense... playing from the gut and pouring out the influences that the band grew up with in Brooklyn. Raised on a diet heavy on Grandmaster Flash and the Cro-Mags, the band members (vocalist/guitarist Billy Graziadei, vocalist/bassist Evan Seinfeld, drummer Danny Schuler, and guitarist Rob Echeverria, a relative newcomer to the lineup) always knew that hardcore and rap could get long just fine. So if it seems like opportune timing that the band now returns with "New World Disorder" just as the charts are turning onto hip-rock, it's only because the rest of the world has finally caught up to where Biohazard has been all along. Before hitting the road with the Insane Clown Posse (you can find a complete Biohazard tour itinerary here), the band spoke with MTV News' Robert Mancini about being ahead of the curve, being true to yourself, and steering clear of the bandwagon. The group also talked about branching out on "New World Disorder" and life among the vermin in its Rat Piss Studios.... Enjoy. |
