9. Really dopey clothes.
Let's face it, fashion hits and misses on "Idol" can generate just as much water-cooler chatter as the performances. Remember Jennifer Hudson's pink dress? Nadia Turner's Mohawk?
Well, apparently, this year's potential crop remembered quite well and went way more Paula and way less Simon with the creativity of their attire.
"During this audition season, the outfits got really weird," Randy Jackson recalled. "Or Halloween is just held over throughout the whole year, I don't know. You know what's really strange about it, too, is why would one think, in a singing competition, we would be moved by some weird, ridiculous outfit? Does that make sense to you?"
