4. The Vonzell factor will be key.
With no clear frontrunner, Randy Jackson foresees a singer like last year's Vonzell Solomon, who "grew by leaps and bounds" throughout the season, taking this year's crown.
"In the past, we knew that Kelly was great [right away], we knew that Ruben and Clay were great," Jackson explained. "We knew Fantasia was unbelievable. We knew Carrie was really good. I think this time it's going to come down to who grows the most during the competition, in front of the American public, because I think everybody is that good at the start."
What Vonzell's surprising third-place finish also proved last year is that limited early camera time doesn't kill your chances of building a fanbase. So don't overlook anyone in the "Hollywood" round. "The Vonzell factor is in full effect this year," Jackson declared.
