By 1999, he discovered his passion for music through the verses of his favorite childhood rapper, Pastor Troy. YUNG P drew the inspiration to begin pursuing a career in music through the lyrics of Pastor Troy’s We Ready (I Declare War) album. Through a nickname, he derived his stage name YUNG P. At the age of 11, he was already gaining the attention of the local producers and rappers due to his aggressive and rugged lyrical content. YUNG P’s first “in-house recording session” was recorded with a boom box and a cassette tape.
In 2006, YUNG P connected with local rapper, James Harris, stage name Deboe, to form their group, Milligang. The group created a unique mixture of R&B, hip hop, and hardcore rap that spoke universally. Due to various issue, YUNG P sought out a solo career.
By early 2012, YUNG P’s solo career was beginning to sprout wings. He linked with charting producer, Ken P, of Ken P Trunkbangaz Production and began creating the kind of music he had envisioned doing for many years. YUNG P then began featuring various musicians in his musical endeavors. By the middle of 2012, YUNG P featured with his favorite childhood rapper, Pastor Troy, on his debut single “24/7.” He went on to work with R&B sensation RecognitioN on his unreleased single “Hands On You.”YUNG P followed up with a single with Atlanta artist, Flame Shakur. His latest feature is with Grammy Award Winner, Frasyer Boy, of Memphis, Tenn.
Beginning 2013, YUNG P and his manager, Frederick Jones collaborated to create Loyalty Entertainment. Their current business ventures include promoting YUNG P’s music and presenting parties at different venues. YUNG P’s future plans consist of reaching the masses with his music and developing Loyalty Entertainment into a successful music label.
