MAJOR STOPS: Since 2013 began, Wordsmith has toured around the country spreading his unique brand to many venues most Hip-Hop artists could never touch. At Launch Music Conference in Lancaster PA he was the only Hip-Hop act on a card full of Death Metal bands, and he opened for the headliners. That concert was broadcast LIVE online by the EVNTLIVE service. Festivals and Conferences provide better networking advantages so trips were also made to Atlanta GA for A3C & Charlotte NC for the Mid-Atlantic Music Conference. Wordsmith even performed five 30 min sets in one day at 6-Flags Great America in Chicago IL.
REALITY TV: Wordsmith has most recently been contacted by representatives from two different reality TV shows, Americas Got Talent & On My Grind. He has been casts in the upcoming "On My Grind" Reality Show, while America's Got Talent will notify him between January & February if he made their show.
LICENSING: NU Revo, as an independent label, has relied on the licensing of music to film, television and radio as a valuable source of income and through our efforts in cleanliness and marketability we have made it our business model to make music that is not only profitable, but satisfies the demand for a more main-stream Hip-Hop. The current state of Hip-Hop has produced a vacuum where little Conscious music can thrive; Our Conscious-Commercial Hip-Hop is changing the rules and we are finding success on the corporate level is the safer bet. As a result, for 3 years running Wordsmith has won an ASCAP Plus award for his ever-growing catalogue of licensed music.
PROMOTION: Wordsmith has worked with many promotional outlets in an effort to bring his music to the largest audience possible. Websites like reverbnation.com and hiphopdx.com have long been supporters of Wordsmith, and we have begun a compilation of blog sites as part of our media blasts. Frostwire recently sponsored a free download, The Backstage EP, which released concordantly with the new album. His spheres of influence range from locally to regionally to nationally and even internationally.
CHARITY: Wordsmith has made charitable contributions a pillar of his NU Revo label and performances are just the beginning. For two years running Wordsmith has been the performing artist for students at local inner-city schools for the annual Red Day festival sponsored by Open Door Baltimore and Keller Williams. The networking at Red Day lead to a performance at Baltimore’s National Night Out, a nation-wide public awareness campaign for safety. Since then Wordsmith has gotten into the school lecture circuit, telling his story and motivating students with his music.
ALBUMS: Wordsmiths current album is titled The Blue Collar Recital and is available on Pandora Radio, ITunes & Amazon Prime. The project is a concept album structured as a day-in-the-life of a Blue Collar artist. The album has something for everyone and speaks to the reality of life so often ignored in the flash of Hip-Hop today. Since signing a deal with Ingrooves/Fontana records, Wordsmith has been able to re-release previous albums King Noah & Vintage Experience on these same platforms making many more hits available for listen & purchase.
PAST: In 2009 he originally caught the attention of critics within Hip Hop circles by teaming with the legendary Chubb Rock for the release of their Bridging the Gap album during the same year. The duo's single, "Old 2 the New" peaked at #2 on the Rapattacklives HipHop Charts, while their album peaked at #9 on the CMJ HipHop Charts. In 2010, Wordsmith took the buzz from Bridging the Gap and released his solo debut Vintage Experience. The album spawned a single called,"Hook-Up Hotline" that peaked at #14 nationally on the Urban indie charts. 2 Years later Wordsmith released a life lesson album for his son called "King Noah", which spawned 8 singles being licensed to TV Networks.
