Richard Welsh III, aka Wild Chyld, was born in Montgomery County hospital on February 8, 1990. Writing poetry all his life, Wild Chyld has always had an act for expressing his thoughts, feelings, and opinions through rhyme. At the age of 17, he discovered the rap game and became intrigued to engage in free style, which helped to develop him as an artist. Inspired by underground artists Machine Gun Kelly, Tech N9ne, and Chris Webbie, as well as mainstream artist Eminem, Wild Chyld gave up his career fighting in the ring for the International Kick Boxing Association and the Elite Muay Thai team Sudyod and became serious about his calling as a hip-hop/rap artist by age 22. Writing, rehearsing, creating, and performing music ever since, he finally discovered an outlet to release his artwork.
In an effort to stay out of trouble and encourage people to have a good time, Wild Chyld began work on his first ever EP Laugh. He signed to Rokonnection Records, owned by brothers Jason and Justin Bales, in 2014 to release Laugh. The EP is currently available online, and will be available on iTunes, Amazon, and physically on May 21. Currently looking to book venues and get his name out there, Wild Chyld will continue to grow his fan base with his dominating and high-energy performances. It is time to jump on the bandwagon and become a “Wild One.”
