Billing herself as "the Queen of All Media," radio personality Wendy Williams leveraged her nationally syndicated show into a multimedia endeavor in 2005, when she launched Question Mark Entertainment alongside her husband, Kevin Hunter. The married couple kicked off their venture with Wendy Williams Brings the Heat, Vol. 1, a mixtape-style various-artists compilation hosted by the Queen herself.
Williams grew up in the Wayside area of Ocean Township, NJ, and remained on the East Coast in the years to come. A child of the 1960s, she studied communications at Northeastern University in Boston while taking the first steps in her very successful radio career, interning on the Matt Siegel morning show on the city's Kiss 108 station. She hopped around from one station to another subsequently, quickly moving to New York, where she worked for a number of stations: WQHT (Hot 103.5), WPLJ (95.5), WRKS (KISS 98.7), WQHT (Hot 97), and WBLS (107.5). In 2003 Superadio nationally syndicated her show The Wendy Williams Experience, which broadened her reach considerably. Moreover, she won several awards over the years, published some books, and hosted a series of interview specials on VH1, Wendy Williams Is On Fire. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
