About Walter Robertson

Very little is known about this West Coast blues musician, who only cut a pair of songs, the novelty-like "Sputterin' Blues" (which has appeared on numerous compilations) and "I've Done Everything I Can." A harmonica player and occasional vocalist, Walter Robertson apparently was (despite the different spellings) the brother of multi-instrumentalist L.C. Robinson, working with the latter on the Black & White label in the years immediately following World War II. He was associated with Oakland, CA-based producer Bob Geddins during this period, and his only single was likely squeezed in between recording sessions for Johnny Fuller, who played on the record as well. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
