After releasing material under the name Voxis, Autrey was approached by FiXT label head Klayton in 2007 to move to Detroit and record in residence at Celldweller Studios. The following year Blue Stahli debuted with his first single, Kill Me Every Time, which featured Klayton as guest vocalist, mixer and producer.
Stahli, like labelmate Celldweller, is represented by Position Music for film, television, and video game licensing and has appeared in a number of movie trailers, shows, and games. An album of production music titled Antisleep Vol. 01 was recorded and released under FiXT in 2008, since then, Stahli has also released Antisleep Vol. 02 and Antisleep Vol. 03.
Blue Stahli released five additional singles in the lead-up to a full-length album, Blue Stahli, which was released on March 2, 2011.
In 2013, on the 19th of November, Blue Stahli announced on his official Facebook that he will be releasing the first chapter of his latest album titled The Devil, to be released on the 17th of December the same year.
The style of music is similar to that of Celldweller, with aggressive guitars, fast rhythms, breakbeats, melodic vocals, and loud glitchy effects, taking elements from alternative metal, electronica, and industrial music. The music is more geared toward rock than Celldweller, who tends to focus more predominantly on electronic elements.
Before changing his alias to Blue Stahli, his Voxis project covered a wider range of genres, including disco, downtempo, ambient, EBM, industrial, chillout, acoustic rock, trip hop and techno.
