Comprised of a rotating collective of top classical musicians, Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) is known for its sophisticated twist on rock and pop’s biggest acts. Fusing master technique with rock n’ roll attitude, VSQ boldly reinvents the music of popular acts such as Metallica, Radiohead, and Lady Gaga with its highly successful album series, stunning live performances, and massive online presence.
As demand for VSQ and their live show continues to surge, the group has most recently appeared on the CW’s hit show Gossip Girl and with rock phenom 30 Seconds to Mars on MTV’s Unplugged.
Beginning in 1999 as an experiment in transforming rock songs with classical instruments, VSQ has gone on to explore the vast landscape of rock and pop, building a diverse catalog with millions of units now sold, a Billboard hit with VSQ Performs Lady Gaga, and high-profile placements on hit TV series such as So You Think You Can Dance, Big Love, and The Vampire Diaries.
VSQ has garnered a huge online following and devoted fan base, including many of the popular artists to whom VSQ has paid tribute. Premier rock groups Dream Theater and As I Lay Dying participated in VSQ’s tribute to their respective bands, and other popular acts such as The Killers, Mastodon, and Coheed & Cambria are known to play VSQ albums at their shows.
One of VSQ’s biggest honors came when Disney invited the group to contribute their reinterpretation of Danny Elfman’s original score to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Their version of “Jack and Sally Montage” was presented alongside covers from Marilyn Manson, Korn, and Amy Lee of Evanescence on the all-star tribute, Nightmare Revisited.
VSQ continues its cutting-edge album series and is now bringing its amazing repertoire to life on stages around the world.
