V were a British five-piece boyband made up of Antony Thomas Brant, Aaron Buckingham, Mark Harle, Kevin McDaid and Leon Pisani.
Career edit:
Band member Antony Brant came up with the band name "V" because V is the Roman numeral for five and there were five members in the band. V made their debut at the same time as McFly by supporting Busted's arena tour in the spring of 2004.
Their first single, "Blood, Sweat and Tears", was released in May 2004 and went into the UK Singles Chart at number 6. The video was shot in Miami, Florida in February 2004 and the single contained a collaboration with McFly, called "Chills in the Evening" written by Tom Fletcher from McFly and James Bourne from Busted. The band's second single, released in the August 2004, was a double A-side consisted of a new song "Hip To Hip" and a cover of The Jacksons's song "Can You Feel It" (with a video of the band dressed as a double glazing salesman, ice cream man, postman, milkman and paperboy) and charted at number 5 in the UK chart.
The third single, "You Stood Up" made #12 in the same chart after an appearance on Top of The Pops, but their debut album of the same name failed to reach the UK Albums Chart. In February 2005, V announced their decision to split up on their website.
After break-up edit:
Mark Harle became a drummer for indie band Little Comets until 2011, when he left the band.,
According to their MySpace profiles, as of June 2007, Kevin McDaid became a photographer. He also took part singing in theatre shows in the United States.,
In 2010, Kevin McDaid did photography work for Westlife's albums Where We Are and Gravity and appeared in "Behind The Scenes" release of Gravity. He also appeared on Westlife's 2010 DVD documentary Where We Are. He was the longtime boyfriend of Westlife's Mark Feehily until 2011. SOURCE,
Aaron Buckingham is currently the manager of the band Lawson.,
In popular culture edit:
In 2006, Kevin McDaid appeared on the television panel show, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, in the mystery line-up. Phill Jupitus' team (including Alan Carr and McFly's Tom Fletcher) managed to guess correctly who he was.,
In Summer 2008, V appeared on Big Brother's Little Brother due to the fact that sixth evictee, Rebecca Shiner, had reportedly followed V for a year. She was reunited with a book containing all of her tickets and pictures of her with the band which she had collected during this time.
