About This City Awaits
In 2012, the band decided to tour and tour a lot. They took their newly released CD, loaded up in a van, and posted 90+ dates on the road. As if the response from the fans wasn’t successful enough, they ended up getting recognized by the independent label Red Cord Records and ultimately signed to their artist management group, BridgeWay Entertainment.
In the fall of 2012, and with 2013 just around the corner, This City Awaits quietly went into the studio to record their second full length album, “Said the Liar." It could simply be described as 10 songs that were more mature and stronger for This City Awaits.
After finishing touring in the summer of 2013, This City Awaits officially became a two -piece band. After some set list restructuring and some guitar tweaks, the band set out for tour in the spring of 2014. “I almost felt like I was in a brand new band,” said drummer Darah Hubbard. “People’s perceptions of us were completely blown out the water as soon as we stepped foot on stage and started playing.”
With their new set up being well received, the duo continued to push themselves to do as much as possible with each and every performance in order to create a show that not only felt intimate, but felt energetic.
After fulfilling their contract with Red Cord Records in 2014, the band decided to take some time off to put that same energy from their live shows into working on new music. In November, they released the single “Slow Motion” to give fans a taste of what was to come. With an evolving passion for music, This City Awaits is looking forward to seeing what 2015 has in store.
