ABOUT THE TV SHOW
The Zinghoppers Show is an EMMY Award winning series of music interstitials for preschoolers that introduces young children to the elements that make up their world. Created by the husband and wife teaching team of Kitty and Jack Norton (and developed with a team of early childhood education experts), the show has been described as "Mr. Rogers meets Soul Train" or "Barney meets the Black Eyed Peas". The multi-cultural cast uses high energy electronic dance music, hip-hop and pop to educate, empower and entertain children worldwide.
Series 1 is comprised of 26 episodes, Series 2 is comprised of 13 episodes.
The loveable characters in the Zinghoppers band include: J-Star, DJ Kitty, Funky Possum, Coconuts The Kangaroo and Olo Da Donkey. The show promotes kindness, positivity and nurtures the "emotional IQ" of children through humor and music. The band encouages physical fitness by singing catchy songs with a danceable beat to get child up off the couch to move and groove with the Zinghoppers!
The Zinghoppers Show is self-financed and independently produced and owned by the Zinghoppers Group, LLC - headquartered in New York City. Launched on Nashville Public Television (NPT) twice daily, five days a week in late 2011. Now broadcast three times daily, seven days a week on NPT. Over 100 additional PBS member stations currently airing the series nationwide (US). In June 2012, the series began daily broadcasts on the American Forces Network's Family channel - bringing the Zinghoppers to nearly 2 million viewers on US military bases in 175 countries worldwide. Additional broadcasters include: KidzBop On Demand, Comcast On Demand, AmebaTV, Google TV, LG Smart TV, Roku and Smile Of A Child. The band releases videos regularily on their official YouTube channel - which has had over a half a million views since launched in early 2012.
