The Spinto Band's style of indie pop features sweet melodies and quirky-yet-sophisticated arrangements, with nods to Harry Nilsson, Of Montreal, and The Zombies. The six-piece band formed in 1996, when Nick Krill came across some lyrics written by his late grandfather, Roy Spinto. After self-releasing seven albums over the course of eight years, the Spinto Band was picked up by Bar-None for the release of their eighth album, Nice and Nicely Done, in 2005 (which was re-released on Virgin UK in 2006). This was followed by appearances on the Jools Holland Show and SXSW, as well as the release of several singles on EMI and Virgin. The Spinto Band's ninth full-length, Moonwink, was released on Fierce Panda and Park the Van in the fall of 2008. After crafting soundtracks to indie films "The Beast Pageant" and "Biba! One Island, 879 Votes" in 2011, the band launched their own label, Spintonic Recordings. They released their newest full-length album, Shy Pursuit, along with a slew of music videos and even an iPhone game.
