The main attraction of this Canadian-spawned folk trio was Louis Leroux, a guitar virtuoso whose playing made him a major folk talent in Quebec. The other members, on banjo and percussion, were Martin Overland and Marvin Burke. They recorded for Canadian RCA and saw their work issued in the U.S. on RCA Victor's Camden label during the early '60s. Leroux subsequently became well known for his flamenco-style guitar technique, and was still being sought out as a teacher in the 21st century. This incarnation of the Raftsmen is not to be confused with the Ottawa-based folk group from the 21st century. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
