After meeting through a classified ad in a San Francisco music magazine, singer/songwriter Elise Bellew and composer/multi-instrumentalist Blake Ryan Dayton began their prolific and long-lived songwriting collaboration, working meticulously to create their own unique sound and style of vibey alternative pop/rock. Bellew’s distinctive ethereal vocals and impactful lyrics joined together with Dayton’s lush orchestrations and unique guitar layerings to create some of the most moving, yet melodic alternative pop/rock that emerged onto the indie scene, joining dream pop predecessors such as The Sundays, Sixpence None The Richer, The Cranberries, Mazzy Star, etc. Evidence of those early influences can be heard on The Mary Dream’s critically-acclaimed full-length release “Beautiful World”. Reflected in their later work, influences from artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Dido and Sia are apparent, especially on their latest recording “This Kind of Life”.

To date, The Mary Dream have had numerous songs placed on television, with prominent features on Networks such as ABC, MTV, CBC, Oxygen and more. In March of 2015, The Mary Dream's song "Save You" was prominently featured at the end of the Season 2 Premiere episode of "Finding Carter"!

“The Mary Dream have combined all the best elements of pop with a sentiment that runs deeper. It would be a beautiful world indeed if more musicians followed suit.”
